I first started my hobby of woodturning about 25 years ago using an old Myford ML8 lathe that I spotted rusting away in a farmers barn, I bought it for just a few pounds and that was it, I was hooked. I enjoy all forms of turning but mainly bowls and platters with decorated rims & natural edges,as a builder I have to turn bits & pieces for my building projects but I much prefer craft turning.

David Peebles (Revolutions Woodturning)
My name is David Peebles. I live near Lyons, a small town in northwest Ohio. I've been involved in a number of artistic enterprises over the years...started out drumming in a rock band, went from there to chimney sweeping and pottery, moved on to furniture making and eventually Shaker chair making. A year or so ago I decided to pare down my life and eliminate some of the excess. I now work in a small studio that I've basically built and designed myself. It's very compact, but has its charms. I have horses as neighbors, trees all around, rabbits and chipmunks as constant companions, and the quiet scenes outside my windows as I'm turning are very beneficial to my peace of mind.

Jack de Vos
Jack is an artistic woodturner who lives in Western Australia.
He is well known for his fine turned vessels as well as his sculptural woodturning.
He prefers to use local wood such as Jarrah (Eucalyptus Marginata), Sheoak (Allocasuarina fraseriana) and Grasstree (Xanthorrhoeii Preissii).
The site shows some of his earlier work through to his more recent sculptural pieces.

Within these pages you'll find examples of my turned wood items, encompassing artistic ornamental bowls, vases, and hollow-forms along with functional pieces such as salad bowls, platters, and candle holders. My inventory of these pieces is constantly changing so I would advise any interested viewers to contact me for more details.
I reside in Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Monarch Woodturning (Roddy Moyes)
I have named this site after that most noble beast the Red Deer (Monarch of the Glen), living on Speyside in the Scottish Highlands I thought it was an apt and fitting title. I hope you enjoy your visit and return again, the site is mainly dedicated to the art and craft of woodturning and you will find examples of bowls, hollowforms, clocks etc. in the Gallery.

Paul Barton
I am a self taught wood turner and have developed my work through my love and passion for timber and in particular Australia’s Native trees.
All of the timber I use is salvaged from the forest floor. E.g. logging remains.

I am considered fairly new to the wood turning world, having only been turning part time for about 10 years and going full time last year. I have, however, been very fortunate to quickly make quite a few friends in the wood turning family. I have a great respect for turners who still have fun turning wood after many years of standing in front of a lathe. If wood turning ever gets to be a chore for me, I am finished with it. Happily, I do not see that happening.
